I have read a lot of stuff here about fishing hoochies for Kokanee. I don't believe anyone has been real specific on what size beads need to be used and where you buy the hoochies. I have looked around for the hoochies and not finding the "25 for $2.59" type deals. Are you using just the little one that are like 5 per pkg for $1.99 I saw at Sportsman's today. I will be looking at Joe's probably tomorrow. Any help appreciated.

If you do a search on hoochies I think you will find lots of information and pictures.

Southern Pro Lil' Hustler crappie tubes 1.5" and 2" are scented, come in a bunch of awesome colors, and I have caught LOTS of fish on them rigged over two or three 4mm beads. I paid less than $2.50 per 25 last year at Cabela's. Ebay deals on crappie tubes abound. You should be able to find them in lots of stores, in the bass/panfish gear section. Or just buy the 5 for $1.99 ones you saw -- the only way I will ever use 25 is if I keep giving them away. I have one I've caught over 50 fish on -- don't know whether to retire it or keep fishing it.

Thanks Moknots, that was the info. I needed. As I said, I have seen lots of information about the hoochies but was not sure what I was seeing was the same thing. The bead size helps alot.
Thanks again.

Silver Horde, Seattle Marine and Pacific Net and Twine all sell hoochies. The smaller hoochies I fish are call Sardine (2.25”) or Mini-Mackeral (2.5”). Silver Horde carries some of the UV hoochies and now offer a mini-hoochie that is, I think) 1.75”. The web site for Silver Horde is down, but if you call them they will mail you a catalog.

Check out the 2.5" sunrise squids at P-Line. Fishermans Friend via Mr. Kokanee has a large selection also.

2 and 2.5 inch squid hootchies for a cheap price are real hard to find. Usually, you'll find 4-5 packs for a $3-4 bucks or more (translates to about 75 cents or more per squid hootchie).
Tube baits, however, are very cheap and easy to find for great prices on ebay.
I will PM you an Ebay link for 2.5 squid hootchies (not tubes) that I got. The seller sells 120 hootchies (multiple color set) for about 23 bucks plus shipping.

RMT (Rocky Mountain Tackle) Hoochies are popular in California and they have a nice UV series. Most of them are half clear and half colored so put in a Radical Glo beads in there and you cover two bases - some glow and some UV. I'll throw a bead on the top of them too. The pink ones are a good base for me and have produced this season already here in California.
As for tubes - I use the Radical Glo tubes exclusively and am a strong believer in them. Pinks / Natural / Red (actually orange) / Blue are good ones to try. I rig them up with beads and other bead shop flashy stuff inbetween hooks as well. The kids love making up designs.
