I will be over at the coast near Newport in Mid-May and wondering if there is any Kokanee over that way to be had. Any ideas?

The only one I know of that is kind of by coast is Triangle lake. It is located between Eugene and the coast.

I've heard it mentioned a few times that there are Kokes at Triangle lake. Anybody here ever target them?

I've fished Triangle a few times for kokanee and done well right in the middle of the lake. Not big size but numbers. To my knowledge it's the only lake in the nw zone that has them. Alot of the coastal lakes have juvenile coho in them but you can't keep them. I think the program for stocking the smolts in those coastal lakes has been discontinued the last few years anyway.

It's been a while but I have done really well at Triangle lake. They average about 10 inches.

I haven't been to T-Lake in probably 20 years, but I might have to go back now. Is their a specific launch that I should use? The boat is 20 ft.

Thanks - Q

There is only one, probably the same one you used 20 years ago!

I fished triangle a couple of years ago. Did pretty well but it was in July. Lots of jet skiers if the weather is good. The kokes were hitting pink and white nortics. We where not tipping with corn and using no scent.
The store burnt down a couple years ago. Bring everything your going to need.

Good luck

Not real sure what area I would target first:wink:
