Got there at 6:20 allready 10 or so boats in the spot, we anchored at 6:45 on top of a school in about the same spot as Friday, . Out went the pinks. I think we were late actually, they were allready"not" really surfacing, and one guy said "at daybreak" they had been. A cpl on K/Greens. We got 18; me 7, Joni 2, Andy 9. all before 8, then it died, flat out died. 8:30 we quit and; . At one point we counted 27 boats joining the parade. Flatlined various rapalas and Kwiks around the entire lake shore after that. tried some casting to the stumps,,, nuthin. Rigged up Joni's 8wt and tossed a few streamers- nuthin.. Nice day though. Water temp on graph was 47*

Oh well, a cpl nice dinners worth. The rest smoke tomorrow. Great weekend!

i got the boat launched a little after 7am. got to the end and started fishing near aufish 101. i lost one at the boat and that was as close to a fish as i got! i think my biggest mistake was not having the gibbs jigs. i went all over salem yesterday and nobody had them, or at least had iny in stock. all of my jigs were 1/2 oz and i think a little too big. i did watch a brown about 18" follow my castmaster to the boat, but wasnt interested enough to bite. oh well, next time!

Davy and Baitdunker, you should have said howdy! I was a guest in my bother's 15' whaler. Aufish101 was the first in "the hole" after bidding us good evening just a little too early 5/3 (the evening bite turned hot), but we weren't far behind. 6am to 7am was pretty good (we got 25 with a newbie aboard). Picked up another 11 by 9 when it seemed to really die. nwsoftball was holding his own and it looked like his wife caught the trophy of the morning -- looked over 14", WTG Lisa.

I saw the Whaler- I was the evergreen Alumaweld- came screamin in about 50 MPH at 6:45 :):):) knowing I was late

I was lookin for stickers

you are a slayer of fish Moknots!

I heard the bite was a tad earlier, and then it DIED, I mean the dog was dead!

I do appreciate the sharing of this info immensely before the weekend. How cool?! was that

Like I always say-- tbis group rocks,

If only I could afford to get on the central lakes more often

Saw all you guys on Saturday. I wasn't on the water very long. I was having issues with my anchor and with no bites and two impatient canines had me heading for one of the campgrounds to let them out. I was watching my motor looking back, holding down the down button wondering why the motor wouldn't go up and put a really nice ding in the side of my boat when I bounced off the concrete. Ugh!! My wife and I didn't talk for about an hour. Drove out in the middle of the lake and just sat there for a while before heading in. We headed out and I found myself at Joes and got a new setup for my anchor.

Sunday, Aufish101, Moknots and I were the first three on the water. What a beautiful day! Osprey, Bald Eagle, Loons, Honkers and oh yeah KOKANEE! We put 18 in the boat before we'd had enough. My wife's air launched transom lander being the biggest fish of the day at about 14". Brining them now for an evening smoke and late night snack, can't wait! There were quite a few boats on the water, but not nearly stacked up as they were on Saturday. Moknots and his crew were pretty busy as was Aufish101. Was nice to meet Aufish101 and see the teacher in action.

Just got home. It was great meeting all the Ifisher's there! It was like a Kok-A-Tilla at Suttle! I had a tough time fishing, I either got there late or left early!

I got at the spot Sunday morning and then looked up to see the fleet of Ifisher's heading in, what a site! I did manage to get 10 for the day before packing it in.

If your ever fishing by Moknots, be prepared to be schooled! Not only in the art of jigging but in getting the fish in the boat with out a net! I tied it once, fish out of the water to the other side of the boat!!!!!!!!

Yet another lesson from the master - Moknots

1/4
1/2
1
2
4
3

It's a double up recipe (until the end) that makes it very easy to remember.

1/4 cup of salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 quart of water
2 tablespoons Johnny's

Soak fillets for 4 hours.

I rinsed them, sprinkled lightly with Johnny's and then smoked them for 3 hours in my Brinkman. Excellent!! Not too dry, not too wet, not too salty!!! Rave reviews from Lisa as well!

Another batch to fire up this afternoon!

It was nice meeting a few of you out there this weekend. ( Moknots, AUFish 101) Having the smaller lighter jigs was the key, Which i left at home. I did mange a few, but nothing compared to some of the others.

Here is what happens to Davy's Koks. They are fun to catch and even funner to eat. I sure hope he picks them up soon or he might not have any left.:smirk:http://www.ifish.net/gallery/data/500/medium/Smokykoky.JPG
