I heard through word of mouth that Fish and Wildlife was putting on a kid fishing clinic at a local pond. I just so happen to have a four year old that is all about teaching his old man how to fish.

The folks at ODFW did a real nice job. Super nice people, plenty of gear if you didn't have your own, a goody bag full of kid specific books about boating safety, fishing info, a few hooks, bobbers...they cooked up hotdogs, chips, cookies, sodas, prizes, fishbait...
Highly recommend that if you hear of a clinic going on near you, snatch up every whippersnapper that you can reach and head on out. We spent about 15 minutes in one spot that wasn't producing, moved about 100 feet and spent the next hour or so unhooking fish and rebaiting.
Great times.
