We had another great day on Suttle today. I took a friend up with me to let him join in on the fun. Found FRG already anchored up over em'. Anchored up a ways off and made a cast to show my companion what he needs to do. After dropping a nice 13 incher in the ice box I handed him the pole and told him to get after it and keep trying. He then proceeded for the next hour to whack them.....and me! FRG started calling him some name I can't remember but WACKO fits him perfect!
Good bite until around 8 then dropped off. Hit and miss untill the rain showers and wind came. Buggers got active again and finished out our limits by 2.
It looks like the fast action of spring is dying off. The last 15 or so were caught vertical jigging with pink pearl gibbs tipped with corn. Looks like Suttle is going to return to its normal self. A good crowd today counted 24 boats. I'll be gone for two weeks ( yes I do have a regular job moknots) so will leave Suttle in all your capable hands untill memorial week end.

Wacko works ok for me Marshworm, but personally, I though he was a SHOWOFF! Nice work. Your buddy was putting us all to shame. We got there about the time the bite was off and managed only 8, left shortly after you. We didn't get the memo on the 1pm bite, but went back out and my guest let me finish a limit between 5 and dark while they continued to sharpen up. A lot more work now for sure! This evening chrome and green, and orange were the ticket, tipped with maggots.

Nice to meet Aufish, Wooly Bugger and Jawstackle today. Many thanks to nwsoftball for the loan of the jumper cables! My brother's whaler had a bit of a battery problem.

Bob Thompson lets see only BT I know stopped at our deer camp up in the AB a few years back and measured a couple of bucks we had took. Must be him say hi!

Yea moknots that was it Show Off or UP or whatever. He sure put the whack on em' for the first time out. Cautioned him on the way home it isn't always that easy! He's good people and had a great time with him and I'm pleased he went.
Sounds like the bite is changing just like I thought. That will make it more of a challenge. Good luck to you all and be careful out there. I'll be thinkin of you while I'm working! Itake my laptop so I can check in nightly!

The bite was good between 6 and 8. It seems so easy when the fishing is good, and so hard when it goes cold. The only thing worse than seen a school of fish below you that you can't get to bite, it to watch one guy spank them when everyone else is cold.

It looks like I left just before the bite turned on again. I was three shy of my limit. My son-in-law fished like a newby and only got 4 to the boat. I guess unlike marshworm, I am not that good of a teacher.

It was great seeing every one on the water. It sure is nice to see some familiar faces and to finally get to meet some for the first time.

Well this was sunday 5/4 but this seems an appropriate place to post it. Fished for just over two hours this morning ~ 9-11. Only managed 8. My companion managed 1 into the boat, a couple of his others almost made it, bouncing off the sides. Spent the whole time jigging with about a dozen other boats. Nice fish and a nice quick getaway. Maybe we were in between the bite(s) but really did not see a lot of other action. A few here and there. Maybe an earlier start next time will help.

FRG your a better kokanee fisherman than I from what I hear...least ways on Wickiup. I hear your exploits are legendary on that little piece of water. Steve Stadeli, the fella that was with me is quite a successful salmon and steelheader. Does a lot of fishing alone. Much the same as I have done on Suttle. He like I gets into the fishing so deep menatlly that the catching just seems to happen.
Did ya see that bald eagle soaring above us? And how about the two loons that were talking just before sunrise over on the south side of the lake? And that big honker that came in low making a ruckus? Those are the things that make fishing what it is. A lot of people hear of multiple limits and think it must be easy so they just head out in anticapation of a lot of fish in the boat. If it was easy there wouldn't be any kokes left tp spawn.
