I promised my kids that I'd take them fishing this afternoon. I was planning on being on the lake sooner, but a couple things came up and we didn't hit the water until 4 pm. After a quick run out to our usual haunt, the three of us began working the shoreline casting lures. Not 10 minutes later my lure got hammered by this 6 lb'er. I passed the rod off to my daughter and for the next 5 minutes she got a pretty good workout. We got a nice pic and released the very pretty fish back to its hiding place. I thought I had one more light light tap, but wasn't sure. A couple of casts later I looked at my lure and it had a fresh scale on the back hook.......guess I had a drive-by.

It's pretty good right now, but as the water warms the fish will not frequent the shoreline areas as much. Nightcrawlers/minnows fished about two feet off the bottom is pretty much the norm, while 2-3 inch swimbaits, rapalas and spoons or spinners are for the folks who like to cast.
