I did some search on jigging rods for kokanee, and could not come up with alot of recomendations. I need too for this weekend and don't want to spend a arm and leg on a loomis etc.
thanks

Check with FRG tomorrow, after he tries his new Berkely Tactix 6'6" 4-10 pound rated graphite spin rod. Exactly as described 4/17/08. He says it's very close to my favorite. I also love the 4-10 pound 6'6" Fenwick "Hooksetter" if you can find it.

I like a 5'6 Shimano line wght 6-14
1/8-1/2oz lure wght
med action fast
I like Shimano's ,and a Ugly stick's,and a Shakespeare's., I try to stay with a 5'0 to a 5'6' ,seems to work for me.

I like this rod a lot. It has a softer tip than the one Moknots likes best. But it is very sensitive and I thought I could feel a fish or two breathe on my jig. It is $49 with a $10 mail-in rebate at Sportsman’s. I did get the last one on the rack Tuesday but maybe they will have more in soon.

I am going to be using a 7' Ugly Stick Lite, light action spinner, I also have a ultra Lite 8' Okuma Celilo baitcaster I may use. I like the Ugly Sticks though. Trout weights are 29 bucks at the local store.
