anyone know when you can get into it with a boat? I imagine it'll be a while yet but I am curious.

Thanks, Jay

Your best bet is to contact the Umatilla Forest as they should be able to tell you concerning access. I have attached a link to their site. I don't if you are looking to fish the lake or not, but we camped their last June for a few days and the fishing was poor. The lake has a huge population of Redside Shiners and Tui Chubs which were illegally introduced. We have a cabin west of Baker that sits a 4,000 feet elevation and we still have a lot of snow. Olive Lake is at 6,000 feet. We had snow on the ground this morning and it has spit snow off and on all day. Good Luck

Might also check with the store in Granite for info.

Thanks for the link...and the Granite store was my next stop.

I was thinking of fishing it...also I hear it has lots of Crawfish. I know 6-7 years ago we fished it in the fall and did well. I didn't know about the chubs and shiners though...that is to bad.

I love it up there...even if the fishing is poor it is hard to argue with spending a few days camping there.
