i have a little chief smoker and lost my book, could someone please tell me what temp and how many minutes per pound to finish it in the oven, i think it is 300degrees and half hour per pound,is that right??

I don't use little chief so I can't answer your "finishing" question, but I do know 30 to 40 minutes per pound at 220 to 240 degrees will fully cook the bird.

Well Chuckee here's what it sez out of the Luhr-Jensen book I have for mine. I'm not gonna rewrite the whole thing, just the parts you should need.
When smoking, open the bird up as much as you can. Smoke in hickory (or what flavor chips you want) for 2 hours or until 2 panfulls are exhausted. Remove and cook your favorite way (the book makes no mention of cooking temps after smoking). Reduce your cooking time by 10% for each hour in the smoker. (Up to 40%) Do not use more than 4 panfuls of "Chips 'n Chunks flavor fuel.

One other point, I learned the hard way..... DO NOT use the drippings to make the gravy if you smoke the bird.
