Diamond lake

I just looked at there website and they got a new 6 inches of snow the last few days and said it really slowed the thawing down they still have no open water on the lake just the two small creeks.

ive been there on 10-12 memorial day weekends over the years and the lake has always been ice free. Hopefully if i get my sled fishing boat next year ill have it when i go there memorial day weekend in 09. once the ice starts to melt it will come off fairly quick.

did you see they got new boats at Diamond... are you going to try to get your lucky boat again this year? they still have the wooden boats too.

im going to klamath falls memorial day weekend, i was gonna take my son for a half day or so but not sure, with gas the way it is dont think i wanna drive up 97 then back to klamath falls then back home a day later, theres always next year, im just choosing not to go i could go weekend before memorial with a few friends they have a place to stay that weekend nut like i said dont wanna drive down there one weekend and then drive clear back down to k falls the next. plenty of lakes to fish around here like olallie in june/july and timothy, trillium and may try wickiup res.

Is the ice still on the lake? if its fishable you should catch lots of fish. I dont know what you use but i usually troll a f-3 flatfish frog with the midget flashers.

i took it you where gonna ice fish it, sounds like u are going snowmobiling?

A small amount of ice is off by the resort and where creeks enter according to ODFW. I wouldn't trust the ice. It's supposed to be warmer this weekend, but there is a lot of snow and ice up there.

My day went great. The yard looks pretty good. :laugh: The last two years I have decided to skip opening weekend. I will be going next weekend when there is half the people on the water.

Klamath was a little busier than I would have liked but we still managed to get a couple. My son caught a 3 1/2 and I got a 6 3/4. Not bad for a few hours work.

we did go to ice fish and we ended up with 22 in the weekend. it was a ton of fun and a great experience u should see pictures of me and the family in the register guard in the outdoors section on tuesday he cam threw and got some photos of us and our fish.

yea it was alot of fun and a great experience. I dont think we caught a fish under 14 inches.
