Best bet over new year on the north coast

My wife and I will be staying at Ft. Stevens over new years. What are the best bet for steelhead streams in the area. I will be on foot (in waders).

There is supposed to be a drying trend starting monday so you may have lots of choices. Around the Astoria area you have Big Creek, Gnat Creek and the Klaskanine River. The Necanicum River in Seaside and the Nehalem system further south.
