From the April 22nd KTVZ News website.

There is also a video clip on the main page with basically the same info but less details. May be a good opener to skip this year.

Also for those that do not get the Bulletin an article in todays issue says that the Sunset Cove boat ramp and parking is open as well as Shelter Cove at Odell with limited parking.

I'll be shooting for end of May. I'd love to be up there, but just doesn't seem worth the risk. I'll be watching these boards for the brave one's posts though. Be careful if you attempt it.

Format may be goofy, I got this from a friend who got it from the Deschutes County Sherrif's Department:
MEDIA RELEASE
CASCADE LAKES ACCESS FOR OPENING WEEKEND OF FISHING SEASON
This information pertains to access at roads and waterbodies in Deschutes County only. It DOES NOT include roads and waterbodies in Jefferson or Crook counties. For information on conditions in those counties, please contact either the Jefferson or Crook County Sheriffs’ Offices.
As of 1pm on Tuesday, April 22nd, access information for opening weekend of fishing on April 26th and 27th:
1. ROADS:
• Forest Service Road 42 (South Century Drive):
o Open/plowed; mostly bare pavement to its junction with Forest Service Road 46 (Cascade Lakes Highway)
• Forest Service Road 40 (Spring River Road):
o Closed from its junction with the 45 road west (not plowed, snow covered)
o Closed from its junction with Hwy 46 east (not plowed, snow covered )
• Forest Service Road 43 (Burgess Road):
o Open to its junction with Road 42
• Forest Service Road 44 (southern edge of Wickiup Reservoir):
o Not maintained, travel not recommended
• Forest Service Road 4270, which provides eastside access to Crane Prairie and Crane Prairie Resort:
o Closed between Forest Service Road 42 and Forest Service Road 40 (not plowed)
• Forest Service Road 46 (Cascade Lakes Highway):
o Closed from the southern end to the snow gate just north of the junction with Forest Service Road 42; closed north of the snowgate, NO ACCESS to the west side of Crane Prairie, Cultus Lake, or Lava Lake.
• Forest Service Road 4260 (the main entrance road to Wickiup Reservoir, North/South Twin Lakes):
o Open/plowed, some slight roadway width constrictions. Limited access to side roads off the main road. Road into Sheep’s Bridge is open, limited width (one lane only).
• Forest Service Road 21 (Paulina/East Lake Road):
o Closed above the snowgate at 10-Mile snowpark, NO ACCESS to either lake until after May 1st (predicted)
2. RESORTS:
Twin Lakes resort is the only resort that is open and accessible. All other resorts, (Cultus, Crane Prairie and Cultus on the west side, East and Paulina Lake resorts on the east side) are closed and inaccessible.
3. WATERBODIES AND RAMP ACCESS:
• Wickiup Reservoir: ice-free except for small portion near the dam
o Gull Point ramp: open, accessible, logging operations in area
o North Wickiup ramp: open accessible, logging operations in area
o Davis Creek campground ramp: closed by snow
o Reservoir Campground ramp: closed by snow
o Sheep’s Bridge ramp: closed by snow
o West South Twin ramp: open, but very shallow beach access
• North/South Twin Lakes: deicing, should be completely ice-free by Saturday
o Ramp access: open at either lake (but both lakes are non-motorized lakes)
• All other westside and eastside waterbodies:
o CLOSED due to ice coverage or limited/no road access
• Big Deschutes River: Wickiup Dam downstream to Bend
o Limited access depending on area, fishing season doesn’t open until later in May.
4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
• With Wickiup Reservoir being the only motorized waterbody expect to be open for opening weekend, there will probably be a lot of traffic in the area. Most of the roads are less than normal width, with 2-4’ snow berms on the shoulders of the road…please drive attentively!
• Depending on the number of people who may come out over the weekend, parking at either Gull Point or North Wickiup boat ramps may be crowded. Watch for signage in the area directing those who have launched to designated overflow parking areas along the powerline road. This will be designated as “one way” traffic, with one lane next to the snow berm for parking, and a second lane for vehicles/trailers to get past. Please be patient and courteous!
• Refer to attached pictures and jpeg map for additional details.
