To see fish, Aqua-vu underwater camera system:D. As far as a fish finder, alot of the top derby kokanee fishermen swear by the Furuno finders. I will probably go with a FCV-585 if I ever get the new boat that I have been looking at for a year or so.

Todd at Portland marine electronics who has all the different kinds of fish finders talked me into the new Garmin last summer. It was a little spendy but have enjoyed it very much. It might just be me but I trust it a whole lot more than the old l\Lowrance. Buy the way is anyone interested in a good used Lowrance?

Actually even the cheap models do well at finding "suspended" kokanee and trout. If you fish in lakes like Paulina where depths can be over 100' then you want to make sure your transducer/depth finder will locate at those depths-clear to the bottom. My cheap Eagle is way better than the ex expensive hummingbird that I had-not so much in spotting fish-but in telling me my depth under all boat speeds-including full power which is actually more important for me than even finding fish.

I had a Humminbird TX 400 that came with my boat (2000 Fisher 16 Sport) and it did a good job of marking the bottom while trolliing and at top speed, but I wanted something with GPS too, after almost a year of shoppong looking, and testing everything I could touch and talking to eveyrone that I could, I bought another Humminbird, Joe's had the 595c Combo on sale for $100.00 off and I couldn't pass it up. It mounted in the same 'mount' as the old one and all i had to do is replace the transponder right in the same holes as the old one, and run the wires, mount the gps antenna on the gunnel, and I am happy as can be. It marks thermals real nice and usually there is fish in them or near them and they will occasionally bite. It seems to be a lot more accurate in in marking what is fish and what is "other stuff". What I am saying is that 8 years makes a lot of difference in technology.
