how long will cooked crab stay fresh if its refrigerated? i am up in the sound area and was thinking about buying some for x-mas before i head back south would friday be to early to buy it if we are going to eat it on tuesday?

We usually go 3-4 days on crab that we catch and
it is ALWAYS kept iced, not just refrigerated.
That also means to drain off the melt during that
time.

If you want crab that tastes like wood....
just freeze it as someone suggested. You will be sorry....

Jeremy, I agree with posh that 4 days is as far as you can go. When the resturants buy it already
schucked it is in a vacume can and refregerated, not frozen. Refrigeration is not enough to hold crab. Have you noticed that the markets have them on ice in the refrigerated case? There is a reason. Have a happy crabby Christmas. :grin:
