I was just getting ready to post the same thing! Very weird! Take a look at these different pages:

http://nimbo.wrh.noaa.gov/Portland/public_hydro/coast.html

http://kayak.physics.orst.edu/~tpw/kayaking/display.cgi/Oregon.html

This one hasn't worked in a few months: http://oregon.usgs.gov/rt-cgi/gen_tbl_pg

One says 16', the other says 7.6'. Hmm...

I was wondering if they changed the gage placement and/or setting, like they did a few years ago on the Clack. I've just been subtracting 8' from total and this seem to correspond with a visual check the last two days. River is not actually that high obviously.

Hey Marie or Jen, any ideas or heard what's going on here. Mrs. dfb and I will be "living on the river" for the next two weeks so it doesn't matter... just curious.

Edit: Hey, looks like things are back to normal as of the 10:15am gage reading ...must have been a glich. Never mind.

Just got off the phone with a friend who lives on the Wilson about a mile upstream of the Guide shop. He says the river has a green color and is running around 8'. There hasn't been any rain today, just overcast skies.

time to fish, time to fish, time to fish and time to fish

For what it's worth....those guages go goofy once in awhile. The guage on the Clack went "off" about a week or so ago...and was reading August water levels.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to let the folks at the guage websites know that something's er.....uh...."fishy" with their readings.

These tips got the guage on the Clack fixed.
