We have been having a tough go of things lately. My husband lost his Dad in December 2006 and then 14 months later his best friend passed away.
My husband has been having some health issues and they ran a bunch of tests. Now comes news from my husband's doctor that it is time for him to start eating healthier, lose weight, exercise and most importantly he needs to stop drinking. If he does all of this then he can "control" the health problems.
He has some valid questions about these changes. Why hunt if you have to limit your consumption of meat? Why shoot birds, fish, clam and crab, if you have to limit those as well?
Losing the beer is also difficult. He grew up with "social functions". He went to college and again beer was part of that experience. Beer is a way to connect with friends and sometimes...a way to forget life.
Please keep him in your prayers and if you have stopped drinking please send him an encouraging PM that his life isn't over. His moniker: Wreckless.
