I'm heading out today at noon with a buddy to plunk for silvers at the hatchery near Woodland. Never been there before, I just have to get out!

Any tips would be appreciated. I've read corkies work well there? How about eggs? Also, can anyone help with a place nearby the hatchery to get a WA 1 day license? What's the limit? (yes, I'll look in the regs once I'm there.)

Thanks! Hawg

unless the sport shop in Woodland is carrying liscences (they werent a couple months ago), Freddies or several stores in Vancouver are the best bet. Problem is they all open >7am. If you want to fish early you'll have to get your tag the day before. If you have a few days before you go, you can get one on the internet at the WDFW site, but they have to mail you the catch tag and that takes a few days.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm off to Freddies. I'll report back tomorrow with pictures! Hawg

I say Hawgwash, you cannot get a one day license in Wa. It is a two day license and it is about $8.50. You can bet them on the internet but I don't recall where I found them. I think it was under the dept of fish and wildlife... As I recall there is about three pages of information and license you get on the internet. Again, I don't recall if it is with or without the punch card. Age is getting to me cause I can't remember the important things. Depending on the time of day but the High School Pharmach in Woodland sells the license also. As for the Silvers, I watched an 8 year old casting a spinner nail them pretty regular, and they were in the mouth. We used green and black corkies with a touch of green yard about three weeks ago and that worked very well. Good luck and will see you thar....

The only good fish is any fish........
