Bait O' Eggs

My work Christmas party was at an upscale restaurant in the Beaverton area. We had the choice of salmon, prime rib, or pasta. Our bookeeper sat next to me and ordered the salmon. When it came I asked the waitress if the fish was farmed or netted. I was going to raz her a little and see what she would say. I work with a bunch of non fishers and they all gave me one of those funny looks, like why would you care.
Without hesitation the waitress informed me they dont serve netted fish, and this was line caught king salmon.
First it amazes me restaurants would keep track of that and inform the waitress, but I guess they have been asked in the past. It was apparant she knew netted salmon would be a bad thing, and in her opinion line caught salmon was politically correct and fine.
Having been over at the open bar and feeling my oats by the time dinner was served, I asked her where the prime rib on my plate was grown and if steroids were used, and she was stumped. I think she thought I was serious and wanted to answer my question. She apoligized and said she had no idea.
I guess the beef ranchers dont get the same negative press that the netters do. I found it interesting they would know the answer to one question and not the other question.
