monday i was out fishing the big c for springers. ran the motor for about 20 min no problems. trolled down river and ran it again no problem. made our troll and went to start the big motor and a warning alarm came on and did not shut off--so we shut it down and checked to oil for the injection system--i added about 1/2 gallon of oil to fill the res. started it again alarm still on--eng runs good temp seems fine, water flow out of the motor seems good----we continued to use the engine and it ran fine--one time the alarm did not come on when started----but came right back after the next troll---anybody have any ideas on what to look for or check?
any help would be great
oh ya it appears the oil injections system is working because the oil level dropped some from the time i filled it to the time i was done useing the boat

I'm not a boat mechanic, but I did recently stay at a Holiday Inn Express:D
I'm pretty sure that is the overtemp alarm. Check the temp sensor and wiring (its the thing sticking out of the head with a small wire attached). I had one last year that the insulation cracked and the wire was making contact with the metal causing the overtemp alarm to sound. It could be that the water pump is shot and needs replaced but if you have a good stream coming from the tattletale hose and its not scalding hot then hopefully it is something simple like the temp sensor. Good Luck

Thanks--i Did Have A Good Stream--and The Alarm Came On After The Motor Had Been Sitting For At Least 1 Hr--so I Know It Could Not Have Been Overheating---i Will Check The Sensor Tonight Thanks
