Has anyone tried these rods? The price seems right and I know they make good fly rods. They have a line out called Wild River. However I never see them on the river.

Thanks. I actually have an Imperial fly rod from them. I have started seeing some wild river rods in various stores and was thinking of trying one for my next rod. They're cheaper than a GL2, I think $120. Their fly rods all have lifetime warranties. I'm not sure about the wild rivers. If so they seem like a contender in the salmon steelhead rod market to me.

I have 2 of these rods. I have had them for 5 years or so, and have had no problems with them. In fact the first year I bought my Back-Bouncer Wild River, I got the biggest Chinook of my life in the Trask Tidewater. The Big Buck Weighed in at 48#. I put more strain and pressure on that fish than any fish ever, trying to keep it out of the snags and brush, and the rod did a great job and I got the fish in the the net in about 15 minutes or so. Just my 2 cents worth!!

I have used a wild river 12-25 salmon fishing over the last 4 or five years. I think it is an excellent rod, especially for the money. I had heard that the St.Croix rod line had been bought back by the original family that had built up the name, and that they were now putting out excellent rods, trying to regain their previous reputation. To answer your question, my .02 is good choice. I think you will be happy.
