Thumper told me the best flow on the NF is around 2700cfs for sleds. Believe me, this guy knows the Lewis. I have been looking at the web page that shows the Lewis River at Ariel below Merwin Dam. It is at 7.50ft. and 11895cfs. Is the the correct gauge? Thumper are you fishing in the Floatilla?

Hey Rags When the level was 2700 to 3000, my friend and I would call in sick with vision problems. He has an 18' Almar that we ran the entire river without hitting and gravel at that level. (That was after the 96 flood) Also divers (wiggle warts) and baits were my hot ticket for summer and winter steelhead. I just LOVE the way they slam those things.

Hi John .... Just got in from the E. Coast. Bruce Gipple catches fish on the NF all the way up to 20,000 CFS, but he is really good at thinking like a fish. They will be in the weeds for Floatilla for sure, but they can be caught. It looks like Fin (Don), Rick and I will be fishing but I haven't confirmed that with Fin. I'll post more when I've checked around a bit. Sheesh! It sure is raining!
