Did this on Sunday: put a fully-cooked ham into an oven bag and add enough cola to cover. Marinade overnight, cook as normal. VERY good.

Did the cola create a hard glaze or did it just help to keep the ham moist? I am going to try this tonight sounds like an amazing idea! Thanks for the tip.

I put mine in a crock pot and fill it up with coke and let it cook all day, it falls apart and is great.

So you put the cola on after cooking the ham? Then did you just heat it up afterwards. Very confusing recipe

He means start with the store-bought fully cooked hams. You buy them that way. Cover in cola and marinate overnight. Re-heat/re-cook according to package directions.

This is what I thought he meant but not exactly what he said. I have heard of doing this with ham and that it turns out great. Thanks Dave.

This also works for steak's. I like to marinate for at least 8 hours in coke and then grill. The meat tenderizes nicely, and absorbs enough moisture, that it's hard to mess them up.

Not much of a glaze to it, really. Just sorta permeates the ham, adding a nice flavor.

I'm already pondering what to do with the next one. Shasta pineapple soda, anyone? Cherry Coke?
