John Day River Information

Ok John Day dudes, spill it. How is fishing? I have had several reports but would like some confirmation on the lower two sections. If you would like to keep it out of the public format just e-mail me bernie@e-z.net.

I want try try keeping the ice off the rod but need fishy confirmation. 3 hour drive and all that sort of thing.

Thanks Kevin. Just so you know, I have two different reports on the private that are to the contrary. Thought you might want to know.

Was there Saturday. Miserably cold, saw six fish caught in seven hours for around 40 boats, most trolling, some jerks bobbered up in the narrows, couldn't let a boat around. Best avoided since drive + odds do not = fun. And Michael Jacksons were not working that day.

My reports are about the same age. Was good a few weeks ago. Those with the private water access are the ones that are doing ok.

Heard a rumor Mon that catching has been better below the John Day dam than above it.

It would take a big hole to bury all the hatchets from the last year on ifish. :shocked: Sometimes I think a peace pipe might actually burn out if it was used to its full potential around here. :smile:

Roy, as long as the hatchet is not burried in the bottom of my boat were ok. Smoke in the boat is not good either, especially if it comes from someones ears or rear. Thats real trouble.

Mark, I am man enough if your man enough :grin: You make the call and I bring the gear. I don't smoke, drink or cuss. Well, the wife says I smoke afterwords :grin: . Sorry, to much information.
