Here is Saturdays catch from the Willamette. We lost a bigger one right at the boat shortly after this one was caught.

Smelt with Sturgeon Feast seemed to be doing the trick. For 5 hours fishing we caught 17 good sized shakers 1 keeper on the stringer and one lost right at the boat.

That fish looks to be longer than 60 inches, and it needs a shave also, just look at the whiskers. Looks like filleting the fish might be a pain as I dont have a fillet knife that big. I am by no means a sturgeon expert but it looks like a green sturgeon with the nose shape and coloration of the coat it's wearing.

I see today that 131 winter steelies have crossed the falls at OC as of the last counting about a week ago. I bet I know where you are about to start (if not already) fishing.

I fished it Thanksgiving morning. I have a 15 HP kicker and I was having to run it about 1/3 throttle just to backtroll in my slot. Until the river drops a little I will be sturgeon fishing although I was thinking about anchoring right up against the bank with a prawn spinner.

Nope, it's not the spot you guys are thinking. It is actually another spot right by there. There aren't any fish in the spot you are thinking of they are all gone now. A dredge came by and took them all away.
