The Elk was fishable on Fri.however there were very few fish caught. Sat. over to the Sixes. The river had dropped over 4' from Thurs. My son and my dad and myself had our limit by noon-oclock! Fresh fish were in every hole you could get a boat in.
I fished the Sixes yesterday up high (launched on private prop.) and took out at Edison creek.
We hooked 12 laned 9 all fresh fish. One that went 43#
lots of people everywhere...
The Elk was plugged w/ people !!!!!!1

Fished the Elk on Fri and Sat. We hooked one at the put in, and then one about five minutes into the drift, landed both on Fri, then things turned off completely. It sounds like we should have moved over one river!

Fished the Elk for the first time with a buddy on Saturday. Saw several fish caught but it sure wasn't red hot, at least around our boat. Several boats had a few fish mainly on kwikfish, didn't see many caught by backbouncing eggs. Sounds like we should have been fishing the Sixes. Rained all day Saturday. If you are going down from the Metro area, be prepared for a long @$$ drive and a ton of company. You'll do a lot of rowing in place waiting to take your turn on the slots and holes...And if you use the shuttle at the Sixes store, try to go inside to arrange the shuttle. Somebody is swiping customers from the long-time shuttle service there right from their parking lot. Tempers can get hot and it is best that your boat and trailer aren't in the middle of it...Just a thought. They have really good biscuits and gravy in there anyway...
