OK I am interested and have a few questions like what is 5086 Alum ? what year is the Merc?

Kerry,
5086 Aluminum, for all practical reasons, is considered the highest alloy Aluminum sheet stock that an Aluminum Boat can be made from. It offers tremendous strength along with good corrosion resistance. The next step down is 5052 which is a good grade aluminum, 5086 just has a few advantages (and it cost more). 6061 sheet stock is considered too brittle to make a hull out of, but conversely, makes for the strongest framework.
Here's a good tutorial: http://www.ez.org/aluminum.htm
I believe the Motor is a 2007, and I know for a fact that it has only 8 actaul hours on it, all in clear water (no salt exposure).
Call Brian, he can fill you in on all the rest.
Trust Me...it's worth a look, and a steal of a deal.
Good Luck!

I have received a few questions about the Mercury Motor.
I made a mistake in posting and listed it as an EPTO.
The motor is an ELPTO. This stands for Electric Start, Power Trim, Oil Injection (the oil reservoir is in the power head rather than an extra oil tank).
This also further clarifies that this is a two-stroke engine.
From what I have read, this is a very desirable motor and sold for nearly $9,000 with the jet drive. :passout:

Do you happen to know what the hull weight is?

Great looking boat! Why being sold after a lot of thought went in to building it? Is the fuel tank in the bow?:excited:

Sean,
The boat has never been officially weighed, however, it is rated for 4 persons or 1075 pounds capacity (people, motor and gear).
It is guessed that the hull alone weighs 600 ish pounds with seat boxes, nav-seat, fuel tank, and rigging box...but that is a guess. The motor is two stroke, so it is much lighter than a four stroke comparable.
The trailer is rated at 1650 pounds.
Let me know if you have any other question.

Is the fuel tank in the bow?
Yes, the 10 gallon fuel tank is mounted on the floor, flush with the step deck. The fuel line is nicely concealed below the side tray and runs to the fuel water separator. The gas tank is for straight gas, as the motor has an oil tank for the oil injection.
I PMed you for why the boat is being sold.

OK, here are a few more answers to questions I've received:
The removable storage box is approxamately 16" X 20" X 14". It has never been used and never been mounted in the boat.
The trays run full length and are 8" deep (very generous). They are trimed in marine carpet.
The motor is a 2007, which was the last year they made the ELPTO.
Cheers :)

Nice looking sled. Looks like there might be some Motion Marine heritage in it.

Hi Group,
As with many, the price needs to be adjusted to the economy.
Spoke to Brian (the owner) yesterday and he said he NEEDS to sell the boat.
New Price $10,500.00
Thanks for looking.
