Hey gang, Just thinking of taking my 9 old daughter out for sturgeon tomorrow and was wondering if the columbia looks like the willamette? We have a tone of trees going down the river here in Salem. Looks much like chocolate milk. Dont want to get the old anchor line caught up in one of those floaters you know. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

The Willamette has been full of junk, but above the rivers (read: below Bonneville) there isn't really any problem. And, hey, that's where the bite is!

I fished out near Trojan this afternoon. We noticed more floating junk than usual, but nothing real big. Fishing was slow for us. Wished we had gone up near Bonneville.

Bonnevile was clear today. the river color looked great. It was really cold today and wind... it blew. Anchoring was tough today we moved several times trying to get the bait to stay put, jsut when it was looking good the wind blew a 30 mph gust and the anchor unpinned itself.

One of the slowest days that we have had since the season reopened. Not every day you get a keeper.

I fished the columbia at trojan yesterday and here in st. helens today. Lots of junk. We had one log come REAL close to the anchorline. I stood there with my hand on the line and the motor running read to cut loose. It slid by and didnt cause any damage. Other than that we just say alot of junk. Some big some small.
And no bites :depressed:
