Just saw a sound/video bite on the news. A CH-47 helicopter was pounding the upper Clackamas with dead salmon. All part of the river enrichment program. The areas affected are on hike in sections of the river.

The talking head commented that the upper Clackamas was 'sterile' as far as small life in the water. Adding a few hundred carcasses would change this?

BTW, you've never seen a fish splash like they do when falling from 200 feet.

Yes, Pilar, a few hundred fish may make quite a difference in the number of macroinvertabrates (bugs) that are present when the next batch of fry hatch looking for grub.

Not to mention the benefits the rest of the system derives from the nutrients.

We are going to "seed" a three mile stretch of trib. to the Rogue by hand in early December. This will be the second year in a row for this particular stream.
