I have been wrapped up the past week elk hunting and am looking forward to taking my sled out for some sturgies in the morning. How has the fishery been as of late. It looks like 10 to 20 mph east winds (piece of cake)and some rain. I would hit Terminal 6 but the outgoing is to early. Any suggestions? Looks like I will put up the top and drop my sea socks. Man I love those sturgies

Head to the Gorge T!!
25 shakers and a 45 inch keeper for three rods.
Morning was rough with a 10-15 MPH west wind but by 10:00 the wind stopped and all was calm the rest of the day. Smelt and squid.

I would say the fishery is your best bet. Was out last weekend 25 shakers and 3 keepers. I know that we are not the only boat having good luck.
We used smelt.

Sturgeon fished in the Frenchmans area today with Gizmo. A few boats in the area.
We started off catching a few little fish, and each fish got a little bigger. several little ones about 24,then 28, 30, 32, 36, finally a 43. It was like clockwork each fish was a couple inches longer than the last. Then it was a couple tiny ones to be followed by a 49. I wish we hadn't limited out, because if we hung around for a few more fish we would have been knocking on oversized fishes door.
A little over 3 hours on the water and about a dozen shakers and a couple keepers. A great day.
Smelt with shrimp scent is all that worked for us. If anything else touched the smelt it didnt get touched. WD40 or sturgeon feast on smelt was about as effective as a bare hook.

BOE,
I like the Frenchman's area and it is overlooked by a lot of people. I was catching sturgeon in that area while everyone else was salmon fishing. I sure got a few weird looks but we had some action. I did however had to break down and catch a couple of salmon. Thanks WaterDog  Ok, I'll take that back, I caught 1 salmon and my wife got the other one. I will be hitting that area pretty soon, I'll post my results
Anyone fishing the St. Helens / Trojan area?
If so how is it?
Im thinking of going out this comming weekend
