Soon everyone will start thinking about Springers. Many are already fishing for them on the chance of catching one. Soon many more people will be targeting them, and I can't wait because that means one thing--more steelhead are there to be caught with less pressure on them. So come on Springer season.
This steelhead season started off red hot with little pressure and tons of fish. As the season went on, the crowds grew huge and at times out of control, but the fish just kept on coming.

A day fishing with Borski, on the crowded Wilson, I think we were about the 15th boat to launch at Mills this day and fished around 50 or so other boats. I think we saw 17 other guide boats (we hooked 14) while never seeing another fish hooked.

A fun day fishing with Dave (Mr Kitch'n Pass) John (fishin magician) and Todd (Crayfin). I am lucky to get to guide some awesome fisherman and somedays with guys like this, it's like getting a day off fishing with my buddies. Some of my clients (like these guys) are top notch fisherman themselves that I believe help make me a better fisherman.

Here is a day that we found some big fish. This day we were lucky to hook into 18 fish and were able to pick through to keep some toads.
Here is Bill with his big fish of the year. He managed to land this steelhead season 14, 17, 18 and 21 pounders.

I was lucky enough to have ODFW commissioner Klarquist (above right, below middle) out in the boat for a couple days this winter for some good steelhead fishing.
