wow, I have to say that this "site" makes me feel like a rookie. Back "in the day" with "ifish" I could post some hints and maybe get a response. But now..... Ifish is really making me a bit upset. I am sorry, but this site is either for "valley people" or the locals that have kept in touch unfortunately I feel like Ifish is turning into a "website" for the "club members". I really liked sharing "secrets" with Ifish friends. But now, in my opinion this has turned into a site for bragging.
Good luck,
Damon
ps.
I am headed to Summer lake tomorrow pm. We'll fish the Wipers by night and the xmas valley "yodes" by day. But I am so dissapointed with this sight I could puke. I really am sorry if I sound like a jerk but remember the old "ifish" days. Last post for me.

we'll that was something that could have been saved for the mods...really didn't need to be said, and you would have sounded a lot smarter and more credible without posting this. i have been on plenty of forums (about a dozen fishing ones), and i would say that this is one of the least boastful and bragged about forums. I find most people here to be humble and helpful. if you have a problem, bring it up with the mods and creators of the site, not the people that share the info, something that your not doing. i have already met a couple quality stand up guys through this website and have enjoyed my time here. if its not for you, leave...dont post to us that you have a intestinal reflux problem and are about to vomit. sometimes it's better just to stay quiet and leave keeping your cool, rather than complaining to the wrong people who enjoy this website and the community here. so thanks for you last "helpful" post here...it really showed that you are the right person on this site who "gives helpful advice". i learned so much from your thread!
as to the rest of you Ifish. I have enjoyed my time here. moving from california and making the transition to smallies and fishing rivers has been beneficial to me. thanks to all of you who i have talked and shared PM's with and to those i got the chance to fish with. all stand up fishermen and gentelmen. so rather then bash this site, i would like to thank it and the community on here. not to get all mushy. lol...but everyone on here is helpful and has character that adds to this forum.
now lets get ready for spring!!! rip some lip

I wasnt around for the good ol days......but i've had many questions, and not all of them, but many have been answered. PM is usually a great way to get honest info. Not many people are going to give up their hard earned secrets, so sometimes its how you go about asking.
The search feature on this website is great all on its own. I can spend hrs. just searching old posts.
No offense Damon, but you have posted 150 times since 2001. Thats about 1.5 posts per month. You havent exactly brought a whole lot to the table. Throwing stones in glass houses...and all that. If its a hug you need....I'll give ya one.........:thisbig:

Not sure if you're saying this based on a few people posting pictures on how the fish are biting lately or what, but all that was intended was to report that its time to get out and get after them (instead of sitting on the computer wondering if they are biting) just go out and fish instead of complaining. If you don't like ifish then don't post. :twocents:

ok well, I can take it. And you guys made some very good points. If you knew me you'd know that I love to hunt and live to fish. Really, I am not one to normally be a complainer. Heck, I've never even sent food back at a restaurant. Obviously know one else agrees with my opinion about the "sharing" on Ifish. So, that makes me wrong. I have just been frustrated lately because I used to use this site to share my "secrets" and get a few in return. But I very sincerely appologize for bringing negativity to ifish, I was just trying to make a point, but obviously that didn't work! I hope ya'll have a good weekend.

Damon, PM sent.
The rest of you, Before this thread turns ugly with all kinds of bashing take a moment and think before you type. If you want to send him a hug please use the PM. If you have a question for him, use the PM. If you want to talk about how ifish has change (good or bad) and how we can make the bass & panfish section better then this would be a good thread to start the conversation.
Remember Jennie's little warning at the top of OUR board marked ...
NOTICE: Please Read
I have received quite a few complaints lately of people not wanting to visit the bass and panfish board anymore, due to some disrespectful and unfriendly banter.
Thanks,
David

I am reluctant to tell any "secrets" openly on the board because I know there are so many people just lurking everyday. And I know this cause I have a few buddies that are lurkers. And for the most part, I am only going to share good info with C&R fisherman.
If you look at the threads though, almost everyone that has asked a general question has recieved responses. If you wanna know where somebody caught their fish, send them a PM, or better yet ask them to come along some time. I have met many good fisherman (that have taught me a great deal) on here that I would never have met without iFish...
As for this being a bragging board, all these "brag posts" get me through the work week and looking forward to the weekend... Keep them coming please.....

No worries Damon, yes Ifish has changed and yes we used to be a lot more open about secret info, but with literaly 10 of thousands of lurkers watching we have become a little more reclusive about talking openly, but inside we are all just the same as before, ask and ye shall recieve.
So where have you been?? Missed ya. Heck you even missed a heck of an IFish predator hunt last weekend. About 30 like minded Ifish hunters camped off Fredricks Butte north of X-Mas valley. Action was slow, area has been worked over real hard. Educated dogs. I heard from a large 60 person strong bunny camp down the road that Bunny action was slow too. Check out the hunt brd. Hint, stay out of the mud!
Hunterholic & I did do a little ice fishing over at Chickahomny (sp).
Of course you can leave if you want, but I wouldn't be so quick to ditch us just yet.
I think you just need to get more involved and come have some fun with us.
Like last year, and the ast 3years before, our Predator hunt was a BLAST!
Sorry you weren't with us to enjoy it. Super bunch of guys & gals. Sorry but me thinks, "IFish ROCKS!"
Hunt'nFish
You can check the "IFish Predator Safari" thread on the hunt brd for more pics.
There's also an interesting one about an "IFisher needs help". Boy that guy sure is a lucky sob. Txt'ing Ifish w/ coordinates from cell phone to call for IFish Assist?!!?
Here's a pic of Hunterholic w/ spoils of the trip:

Hey thanks so much for the warm invite. I really wish I would have been over there last weekend for the Safari. Heck, reading those posts and seeing all the pics of the coyotes REALLY got me pumped! Don't know if ya noticed my latest post but today, I decided that it's just not worth it to go THAT far from home with the weather coming in. BUT really Florence can be GREAT! Generally, I'm not a big trout "fisher" but down there is can be sooo worth. Not to mention the perch this time of year. I need to get a camera but I'll grab a disposable and post some pic (hopefully). You'll see pics of my buddy "big Mike" he gets SO excited when he hooks a fish...and it's been a while for him! Take care

Damon-
This is the internet- we all thank our lucky stars that guys aren't on here telling us their "secret spots". Please don't share yours with us and please don't ask us to share ours with you. The main goal is for all of us to help each other as much as possible, and us asking you to ruin your best fishing spot by posting it's location on here would not be helpful to anyone. Let's help each other with sharing techniques and ideas on how to catch those fish in that spot and certainly share some good photos or stories. The "big three" that makes most of us clam-up a bit with helpful info, is: blantantly keeping and killing way more fish than a person needs to eat, or killing multiple big, spawning females for the sake of showing them off. Telling way too much about exact locations of areas that could easily be overfished or could be more or less ruined by too many fisherman. The last one is claiming to have caught a state record fish or just an extremely large fish without a photo. This one is to protect and honor the deserving currrent state record holders.
Bottom line is: there is not one of us that doesn't wish you will stay and chat with us and we look forward to seeing some pics and showing you some pics and sharing anything we can that will be useful, and learing anything we can from you, too.
Good fishing.
Dave
