I've got a jack dempsey that needs to find a new home. He's about 6" long and mean as hell.

Dang, I miss my cichlids. Those are the fish that guys turn to when they realize how boring pirhanna are.

:laugh: For some stupid reason my brain read that as a jack russel and I was having a hard time wrapping my brain around a 6" dog for a quarter second.

I had 4 piranhas in the tank with this guy. They became lunch. Two larger (8 and 9 inch) oscars were devoured. This is the meanest fish I have ever seen.
I'd bet a jack russel would become a quick meal as well. They only belong on horse farms, though:wink:

Had a Jack Dempsy once he grew to be 11" It didn't matter what else was in the tank African Chiclids, Oscars whatever he was going to turn em into floaters and this was in a 50 gallon tank. Very cool fish so long as your not a smaller fish in the same tank.

Matt, Hope you are not the one i gave my Jack Dempsey to on monday. Gave away mine on monday to someone off craigslist. Talk about mean fish though. 1 fish, the inferior killed 5 other cichlid, all larger and would not eat, but just kill any fish i ever put in that tank. Beautiful fish, however, i would never recommend buying one unless you plan on having a solo aquarium. Get an Arowana like mine, cool fish, grow fast and fun to feed.

Great fish!! I have 3 electric blue jack dempseys. mine are still small. when they start getting bigger I will have to separate them and sell at least one. hopefully I have a pair.
Hope you find him a good home
