I was curious if it would be stocked with bass, trout perch...and what ever else used to be in there before the flood.

Vernonia lake is still one of my favorite bassin' holes. I was thinking the same thing.

It's scheduled to be planted with hatchery trout this week, FWIW.

The lake was not affected by the flood. In fact the dike which holds the lake is one of the reasons that surrounding neighborhoods were flooded so hard.

So as a newbie I know its tradition to tell a story on your first post. Well, mine is not soo hot. Fished vernonia today with the wife and daughter. No luck at all. A couple of pontoon boats had stringers of 3-4 fish. We tried with all our might but the mighty casey struck out. Great day on the water and any day fishing beats.....well, any other day!

To back up Nehalemguy, while some water did go into the lake at the very peak of the flood, it does not appear any water flowed out. The over flow pipe was below the flood level. The dike on the west side of the lake held up the flood waters, but once the water flowed past the pinch point at the pump station, it dropped down due to the wide open area across from the lake. Bottom line, all the fish should be in the lake.
