So I told myself I was going to get into Kokanee fishing this year and it turns out I am headed to Wenatchee for a year.

Anyone fish for Kok's up in the area?

I lived in Cashmere for 12 years untill 2004 when I retired. Lake Chelan has Kokanee as well as Lake Roosevelt.

That's right, forgot about Chelan.

What about Fish Lake or Lake Wenatchee?

Hi there, My wife and I fished Chelan for lunkers and caught several Maks around 7 to 10 lbs. Along with two 27" turbots. I know the koanee are in there we just didn't target them. If I could figure out how to post my pics I would love to show you the turbot. They're a land locked lingcod and very tasty.

Newbergfishjunkie -
I beleive that your "freshwater ling" are commonly called "burbot" or if you prefer Lota lota.

Here is a link with picture if folks are interested -

They are fairly common in many of the deeper lakes (as well as some rivers) across the north half of North America and reportedly a very good eating fish.

Lake Roosevelt has some of the best Koke fishing on the West coast. I think the last 2-3 state records have come outta there.

Almost forgot,

Yes Lake Wenatchee has them as well.
