Please use caution when you start hooking lots of small Steelhead and Salmon being released on area rivers. They are not clipped Trout to keep. They will hit anything near the smolt ball. Chinook have a black lip, steelhead have distinct shinyness. Smaller fingerlings born natural in the river will also hit anything, its best to just move on.
I have found the best way to unhook these overagressive little fishies, is to only touch the hook and shake them off quickly, as handling them is often fatal.
