Anyone know a link to find this? I went to the site for the dam release temps, and it said ''no data til' May'' or some such. I want to see if there is much of a rise right now to make it worth the 40 dollars in gas to haul the Whaler up there.

That's what one of my friends tells me for early season, but I never catch more than a few small fish there, and never anything 2lbs or over. I wonder though, if there is a temp guage for the CR other than the Dam scrollcase(sp?)(and whatever that means) for pre-May temps. Anyone going up there this weekend, maybe report on temp. I want to get a trip in pre snowmelt, as I guess the CR is gonna R&R once the runnoff cranks up.

Tar Heel, ther are plenty of fish over 2lbs and plenty over three lbs on the Willy. Just need to do some more looking. Here a couple of 4+ lbers from last year.

All three of these fish were over 4lbs. Also a just under 3lb Large Mouth.

You can get The Dalles and Dodson here:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/or/nwis/current/?type=quality&group_key=basin_cd

There's probably not too much fluctuation between these locations and others in the same general area (e.g., Dodson and the lower river, The Dalles and the reservoirs).

Fish Lipper, you don't have to rub it in. Ha.. I saw those when you posted em-those are big Willys! I'll save the time and gas and stay local, as history has proven, If It's slow for Jade M I sure as heck ain't catcin nuthin. Nice to have that other temp site, as the other one says it won't be up til May.

I live 400 feet from the columbia and take weekly temps. On march 1st at sauvies island the water temp was 45.7 degrees farhenheit. From my data last year the columbia doesnt reach 60 untill about early june.

this is a great site. you can mess around and find all sorts of things. from todays fish counts up to 10yr averages. also water temps above and below the dams. the temp up here is right around 40 F. i know from the last couple of weeks that the snow is melting and some of the tributaries up here are getting into the low 40's.

try this site it's cool.

Don't need the low down--I need a ride! My boat is still set up for ducks... Today would have been nice. I guess I'll save my fishing time for a little later and try to do some catching up.
