The strings that once held the Clackamette boat laugh dock together? I was driving over the 99 bridge and looked down and saw it was gone. Drove into the park, looked up closer from the truck, and yep it's gone. I mean nothing but poles left type of gone. Are they cleaning it or did someone actually figure out that it was a bad dock idea anyway and just gave it away? Maybe just a summertime tie up ? Anybody with any ideas ?

I haven't been by there in the last few days, but sure thought their idea of docks there was a real joke. Especially the pilings that are so very crooked. I can see them getting all messed up in the first flood. Maybe they took them out for the winter, thought better of their idea, pephaps?

The whole launch facility is a joke. I have used it once since someone decided to make it the most user unfriendly launch area in the state. I don't know why anyone would use it. However I hope they do that way the launch I use will remain a great place to launch.

There was some discussion when they first opened that ramp after the so-called "improvements" that the docks were not up to Govt. regs. Seemed the solid construction would provide shade for predator fish to hide under thus making the enviroment conducive for predator fish to destroy (eat) smolts. My guess ...the county got in trouble for putting those docks in before examining the regs. Supposedly...they were supposed to be constructed of the metal meshy stuff that would enable sunlight to go through. Makes sense about the docks, but that whole re-construction project is a joke.

Wait a few years and see what happens with that gravel bar that's creeping downriver right above the McLoughlin Bridge!!
