Jennie, Nice to see you have a new family addition, a real cutie. Puppies are always so special and lots of fun. Just wished they'd stay small a little longer.
I've always had working dogs for hunting and trained them myself. My favorite book series are authored by Richard Wolters, titles like Water Dog, Field Dog. All of the books start with kindergarten basics for puppies. Actually, I think the books are intended more for us, teaching us how to behave around our pets.
Good luck to Kilchis, hope you train Jen right!
Gregg
Way to cute Jen, maybe Kilchis and Wilson can play together some time. RW
That is one cute puppy!! One of the best dogs I have ever had the pleasure to hunt with was a Springer/Lab Cross...good call...and I am thrilled for you! It has been a long wait!
Jim
Best of luck with Kilchis, Jennie. Good fishing dogs are worth more than gold. My old dog passed on several years ago, but she was such a joy to bring along. Slept in the car on the way to the water. Loved to ride in the boat. Stayed by my side while I waded. Never wandered off or chased things into the wilderness ... I doubt I'll ever have a dog that could land a fish with her gentle mouth the way AJ did. That was a priceless moment... it's on film, but I can't find the picture or I'd post it.

Ahhhhhh Earl!
I had a Malamute named Earl. I loved that dog SO much!
He went for walks with me and we would go to the store and get an apple! He loved apples!
He pulled me in a sled across town when it snowed in Cannon Beach!
Ohhhhhh Earl!
He looks so much like Earl!
Jen :depressed: I miss him....
Here is my fishing/Hunting partner and her partner. Can you tell where one starts and one ends?

We lost our dog to cancer earlier this year. The wife really wanted a new puppy. This is her Christmas present. We pick her up tonight and she is going on her first fishing trip tomorrow. Got to start her off right.

How could I say no to a face like that?
The ridge on the top of her head is just like Charles Barkley's isn't it.

Jen -
My bro is looking for a dog. He wants a go-anywhere dog and this looks perfect. None for me this time, I'm one dog too many by myself.

Well its pretty bad when everyone asks about the dog and why we didn't bring her along for the fishing trip. I guess its because she likes to swim over to the next boat and visit them for awhile.
Like any other eight yr old child, I always make sure she wears her lifejacket. Baby loves to go fishing!
