Wanting to get out for some trout action and really don't have much time, to drive. I have not fished for trout that much but I know basic power bait, or just small spinners work great I just need a place to go and try them out.

There is always hagg lake. And its about 30-45 mins from downtown. Just outside of forest grove if you need a general area.

ODFW has information on their web site with links to fishing resources. Here is one of them: www.dfw.state.or.us/easy_angling/fishing_zones.asp (http://www.dfw.state.or.us/easy_angling/fishing_zones.asp)

How about West Salish Pond? @207th and Glisan. Got 500 "larger than 12in." trout in the last 2 weeks.

How's the eating from Salish? When Jenny caught that little 9" Rainbow at MHCC I ate it, but upon my return visit and walking around the pond I kinda wish I hadn't

How about North Fork Reservior on the Clackamas? I took a couple of novices over there last summer and we caught limits and had a good time. It's a nice drive out there and the lake is clean, so no worries about eating the fish. There is bank access and if you stay away from Promontory Park you can avoid paying a fee.
