Going to head over to the Powder River to try for some SM. I know the water is still a bit cold and probably low. I'm going to get a day away from work and just to see what happens. I've never tried this river, this early, so it will be a new experience this early in the year. The weather has been so nice here in N.E. OR. Been waiting for spring to finally get here. I know I will get a line wet, but not sure how the fish will respond, or if they are even in the river right now. Any input?

Can't wait for April, and May, and June, and July, and August, and September, and even October. Wow, they're just around the bend!!!!!

Way to early. Save your gas. It's cold and rising and with a few more warm days like today it will be running real high and fast.

I know what you mean. I lived across the border in Idaho. The winters just make you itch for spring fishing.
