Sason your ground burger with garlic salt, garlic powder, black pepper, a smidge of cayenne pepper, and a couple tablespoons of wochestershire (sp?) sauce. Chop 1/4 of a sweet onion and a 1/4 of a bell pepper finely, and mix those into the ground meat.

Make these into patties and cook them like you would a normal burger on the grill :food: The sweet onion and the green pepper mixed into the burger give it a great flavor!

That is so funny after I wrote this post, I chopped up mushrooms and onions and mixed them with two eggs in too some elk burger and made little hamburger patties then coated each side with some bread crumb mix and made my version of elk salsibury steak.... Baked in the oven on 375 for 35 mins
MY 6 and 2 yr old loved it they ate one and half pattie each..... Oh and we had salad and ranch beans.....:excited:

Here's another for ya. I've always wanted to try this, so maybe you can and report back to me :D

Take your burger, season it, and make it into a meat loaf shape. Cut the meat loaf in half horizontally, and separate the two pieces. Crumble up some blue cheese on the top of one of the pieces, then lay your other piece over the top of that. Put it in the pan and bake normally, but about 20 minutes or so before it's done, take some thick, smoky, pepper bacon slices and cover the top of the meat loaf and finish cooking it like that.

Blue Cheese stuffed meatloaf with pepper bacon. It's always sounded good to me, but hey...what do I know :food:

Lots of seasoning combinations work, but the key is to bacon wrap the elk burger then BBQ it. I try to make the burger look like a bacon wrapped filet mignon. Think that is what I will have tonight...yyyuuuummmm...

Bacon or proscuitto is elk's best friend. Gotta check it out...

I prefer baking elk, taking the ground meat and mixing it with fresh chopped onions, garlic, some savory herb, thyme, and peppercorns then make a log out of it and wrap it with bacon.

One I haven't tried in ages is what I call "Italian Tacos". Make a thick...thick...spaghetti style sauce...mostly burger...with the tomato sauce/paste and Italian seasonings. Serve as you would a taco...in hard taco shells with lettuce and cheese. A spin on a couple favorites mixed into one!
