Well I've made my twenty casts everyday this week out behind my office (I'm in the two story office building two doors down from the movie theater). Nada. However, the temp at 3:00 was 49 degrees and I would guess pretty soon I'll have a picture to post. For those of you who are bank bound, you might consider the only access you have by the railroad tracks. If my spot is 49 and it doesn't get sun until noon. That shoreline by the tracks is in the sun all day, has boulders and some laying down trees... If you look in the archives under Lake Oswego Lunker you will see another fish picture posted from that spot that looks all of five or six pounds. Just an idea.

At last a spinnerbait tossed under the Oswego Grill dock nets a 21" 4# bass. The water was 50 degrees this afternoon. Let the fun begin.

Look at the picture I added to my original post. She ate a chartruese spinnerbait today under the dock. It would be a good time to start trying the public access along the railroad tracks!:meme:

Nice fish.
I used to fish the lake every day after school and all summer long. I just about lived out there.
Lots of great spots with great fish if you know where to go. ;)

Congrats!

Here is a pic of today's catch. This one was on a Roboworm. I got another yesterday on a 3" senko. Three fish in three days. I love my afternooon break this time of year.

Wow, I just moved to West Linn and didn't know there were fish in Lake Oswego. I love all the places to fish down here! What's the water quality like? Can you eat em? Do you?

Don't eat them. People can't even swim in the lake during the summer do to toxic algae. Plus the numbers of fish aren't great enough to sustain anything but C&R.

There aren't many places to fish on Lake Oswego. I think the main reason many of us get away with fishing the places we do is because we work on the lake or are kids.

I ate a lot of fish out of there... the algae blooms don't effect the fish. The fish population in the lake is very high -- remember that the small section of the lake by the tracks is nothing compared to the main lake that is more than 40 feet deep in most places. You can catch perch and crappie until your arms are sore. Almost no one fishes the main lake -- it's not exactly the sport of millionaires. The last summer I lived there (2004), I could catch 15-20 bass in an hour. But that was from a boat with access to any part of the lake I wanted.

Don't get me wrong... I am all for C&R of bass. I only ate crappie and perch and maybe 3 or 4 bass the 5 years I lived on the lake.

Ya, go ahead and eat the perch and gillies (the lake also has some absolute monster crappies)
Is the number of bass really that high? My best is like 5 or six in a day but they are all above three pounds. Does anyone else notice an absence of 1-2lb fish?

I wouldn't eat fish out of that lake. Both the bass I caught had sores on their sides. :passout:

Is it true, you have to have a pass to be in a boat on that lake?
