Hey gang, I usually lurk back in the shadows and not say much, I will try to change that. Anyway I was at LBC last Sunday with some friends and man was it great to hook up to my first Kokanee of the year. Absolute buttes I tell ya. Always seems they are more colorful when you haven't caught any during the winter lul. Decent size 14"-16",pretty shallow and we stayed mainly in the Deschutes arm (thats where the big schools were). Sorry no pics, the camera batteries were dead. Out of sink with the pre fishing checklist. I was surprised how low the lake was. We went in at Perry south just to check it out for this weekend and WOW:alert: that ramp sucks right now. The middle is caved in, the water is not very far past the edge which is a drop off, and it is really shallow in that area, just a heads up.
See ya'll this weekend

Thank you for this report. A lot of koke fishermen make LBC their first fishing-camping trip of the year and Perry South is the closest and best option for many of us. No more lurking in the shadows for you, partner. This is an excellent forum with a lot of good people posting who are very willing to share their fishing knowledge and experiences. Looking forward to more of your reports!

Wow! a 14"-16" koke is a good fish any time of the year. Even more so this early! A good sign of things to come?
Good job and thanks for posting.

Be advised that the catch limit for LBC is going down to 5 and there is no bonus limit, just a 5 fish limit. From what I have heard it is in the works getting final approval.

Are we talking next year or are they going to add a supplement to the current regs?

It is an emergency regulation change that will take effect as soon as it gets final approval. It sounded like it will be withing the next few months, but I did ask for a time line.
