FEAR NO FISH!

Gary (ear infection) Yager and I
fished in fog so thick you could cut
it with a knife. I hate to sound like
a broken record but we are hammering
the big steelies still. Last night, 10
on,6 landed. 4 fish bigger than 15
pounds! 1 10 pound fish, 1 eight
pounder. All colossal hatchery fish!!!
I tell ya this, where else can you
consistently bang huge steelhead every
night you go? We have been doing this
since Sept. 1st. YOU CAN TOO!
FNF, your killing me

You said the F word and scared the Bejebers out of me. Now, I'll have nightmares of being sucked into a turbine in the middle of the night.
Is fog the norm this time of year?

I've heard from a reliable source that there are three forms of navigation in the fog.
1) GPS
2) Listening for horns of tugs pushing barges
3) Braille

GPS is really a must. A compass too! When you sight a buoy, log it as a waypoint. You have to stay on top of things as they tend to pop up in a hurry. Always fish at night using your nav lights and a stern light. I have seen too many people fishing without them. Do these people think they are in stealth mode? I am thinking of mounting fog lights on my boat next. The Columbia river is now 54 degrees. A person in the drink will not last very long. Please use your lights! I have to work four graveyards till I can get back out Tuesday night. Don't give these fish a break for Ramadan. The steelheaders alliance is alive and well!
