Who is the top guide on the clackamas. Who can get me into the fish. All I'm really looking for is someone to teach how to drift and where to drift the clackamas. But getting into the fish would be a bonus. I'm a 21 year old looking for some new tricks. Thinking of geting a drift boat. Even a nice IFISH member would be cool.

Dave is listed on the front page of Ifish and has a forum of his own. You should be able to find an e-mail on either of those or on any of his informative posts in this forum.

Rob Russel of First Water Guide Service is another great guide for the Clack. He fishes it a lot and always has it dialed in. 503-774-4386

David Johnson is who I would go with. I see him on the Clackamas alot when drifting and his clients always seem to be smiling. He is also polite to others fishing the river.
David Johnson would be an excellent choice, he knows the river very well and is a pleasant and knowledgable fisherman. I believe he grew up on the Clack.
Good Luck!

I JUST WENT WITH DAVID ON A FISHING TRIP DOWN AT THE COAST, THINGS HAD BEEN PREETY SLOW AND HE WAS STILL ABLE TO PUT US INTO FISH. BY THE WAY DON'T LET ME FORGET TO TELL YOU WE HAD BAD LUCK BOB AND GOOSE EGG GIB IN THE BOAT AND IF YOU CAN PUT ANYTHING IN THE BOAT WITH THOSE TWO YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DAVID WAS GREAT TO FISH WITH AND WITH I HAD MORE MONEY TO DO THAT MORE OFTEN!!!!

Be careful if you ever go with "Spooled". His boat is the "Cadillac of the Clack" with the new paint and all. He won't even let me look at it for fear that as my eyes pop out and that I may drip a tear on it. By the way Troy are you ever going to get that boat wet again? It is a real nice boat and I can't wait to see it all dolled up.
Never fished with those guys but have heard excellent reports with those that fish with them. Very courteous dudes. Lots of good fishers here that are very good on the Clack. Keep asking, someone will invite you.
Note: if you are ever lucky enough to fish with Spooled beware. You will become know as the "Rod *****". I think that term was coined by "Chuck & Duck" for Flotilla II.
Good fishing!
