We want to schedule some trips this spring/summer/fall to central lakes. We would like to stay in cabins. Any help on what time of year and what is going on would be great. We just got our new boat out on Green Peter last weekend to try the down riggers and get everything organized for the trips. By the way only caught 3 small raindows at Green Peter. Thanks in advance for the advise. Jeff

Central Oregon?
The following all have cabin rentals, but they can book up well in advance.
Odell Lake
Crescent Lake
Twin Lakes
Paulina Lake
East Lake
Olallie Lake
Elk Lake
Cultus Lake
Clear Lake
Suttle Lake

Don't forget about the houseboat rentals at Billy Chinook.

I am sure that others will chime in with more!

If it was me, I'd rent a cabin at S. Twin Lakes Resort. You have several lakes within a 15-20 min drive with great fishing. The only issue I see this spring will be snow pack (lots of snow pack). I wish this global warming thing would hurry up. ;)... Or was that global cooling due to the warming that was cooler than some warm days or something? :passout:

Seriously,

Try S. Twin! make sure to be back in time for their prime rib dinner on Saturday nights. It is fantastic..

I actually watched a thing on the history channel on Sunday regarding this. I wish some of those lovely politicians would've watched it. They're always looking for scientific proof. It was pretty well pointed out what's really happening. We're just in between ice ages right now. But that's another topic.

Back on topic, if you're going to go to Cultus in the summer time, I think they rent out by the week. Ditto on what Stillwater said though, access to several lakes with 15 to 20 min drive is very much worth it. Pretty hard to beat when you can catch a 10 lb brown, 10 lb rainbow, and a 20 lb laker all within a 5 mile radius. We live in a very, very special place!:D

Thanks, for the help. We were thinking about the high snow pack also. We are setting up for Billy Chinook on Fathers Day and going to hit Paulina, East and Diamond this year. I would like to try for some Macks in the fall at Cresent if I can get some help on how to gear for them.
