im thinking about trying my luck at walleye again in the portland area. its been probably ten years since the last time i've been out. my brother inlaw is a greenhorn and i think he would enjoy it. plus they taste sooooooo good.:D was wondering if anybody has been out there giving it a try and any tips would be great. last time i was out we were fishing the chinook landing area. thanks troy.

I've been out once this year here local. No luck for me. Its usually a tough bite anywhere early, especially below Bonneville. That don't mean you shouldn't try though. Usually picks up lower river after the main run off in summer.

Much has changed during your 10yr hiatus, lot more people targeting them and limits have doubled. ODFW & the salmon huggers would just soon they all were gone.
Sad, it used to be so much better.
