are there any slide shows or pics that show how to do different wraps?
I am a novice rod builder(getting ready to start my fourth) and would like to try some different designs. any help would be appreciated.

Take a look at mud hole dot com they have a banner rod building 101 section that has some ideas to get the juices flowing. Crabbait also posted some stuff on trim bands. Look at all of Rooster's posts his color combinations are the bomb, look at Grady256 and the marbling.
Just get a scrap blank and play around
If you are looking for some ideas on decorative wraps, here's a couple basic instruction books put out by FLEX COAT that can get you started. MudHole, Angler's Workshop or any of the other online stores have them for around $5
