willy report 2/20

[Jade Monkey]

So i meet portlandstatekid this morning and launched the boat for the first time this year water clarity was about 3.5 ft and temp was 43 . We stopped at 1 of my favorite spots worked it to no avail. continued up river to another spot got a couple of grabs, but could not capitalize. The 3rd spot we fished got to see a couple of Bald eagles and lots of water foul, Bang fish on !!It wasnt much maybe a pound, no one else could capitalize on this spot, work our way around the corner, Bang nice fish on !!:meme::thisbig::D.
Tried a few more spots to no avail. The weather was nice a bit chilly but not to bad the water warmed up to 45 by the time we got off the water. Both fish today were caught on lipless cranks . Tired everything under the sun with no luck. I forgot to pack my spinners but oh well maybe next time . the water temp is on the rise and as you seen the fish are just coming out .
That fatty was in about 8ft of water a slammed that bait at the boat WOAH what a surprise, the lil guy was right off the bank maybe 3 ft of water. Yes we were below the falls , i dont know the river above at all. It is time to dust off those rods and reels put fresh gas in your boats and get out there! i will probably get out this week comin up! But im going to head up the CR and hit some holes that produce big fish( i hope)LOL
