I would say this only has to do with springers, I could be wrong though.

It is for ALL sportsfishing inculding bass, shad, walleye, salmon, bluegill,.....
The reason for the closure is to allow the commercial gillneters to fish. The commercial fleet did not want to play bumper boats with the sportsfisher so now it will be closed for all sportsfishing not just salmon.
For those that think I am wrong feel free to call ODFW or WDFW and ask for youself.

If the salmon numbers are high enough to give the netters a good catch they will most likely get their quota in a day or two, or three. Then I would imagine the powers would lift the Tues. fishing ban.

With all the "mess-with-the-gillnetter" talk from the rabid STS guys the state police had to come up with some temporary law to protect the netters from harrasment.

Man...Sometimes I'm ashamed to be an STS fisherman, and other times, I suspose I should be ashamed to be a warm water fisherman.

What a time and place we live in.
